A Sense of Humor

The Funny Man

Do animals have a sense of humor?  My experience has shown me they do.  Perhaps not in the exact same way as humans, but they do know how to create joyful energy with their antics, their habits and their quirky ways.  Our Orange Boys for example will rush up the cat tree, flip upside down and give me a goofy grin when they want to express a moment of pure delight.  My horse Romeo used to play catch-me-if-you-can, tail up, eyes sparkling, body rippling with absolute exuberance….hoping I would laugh and play with him.  Our dog Bella creates her own fetch game, tossing her toys down the stairs, retrieving them and then racing back up the stairs to start it all over again.  She knows this always elicits hilarious applause from my husband and I.

Humor, laughter, lightheartedness….animals are naturals at knowing how to lighten up energy.  They easily choose joy over strife and are blessed teachers of the art of humor.
