“Imagination is more important than knowledge.” Albert Einstein
What exactly is the imagination? Is it as we have been taught, a childish view of the world…something to be dismissed as we mature? There are countless animals with whom I’ve had this discussion and every single one of them has asked me to use my imagination as the vehicle of expression when understanding animal communication.
Like using a viewing device, when we see the world through the imagination we open ourselves to all possibilities. We listen with our creative brain, not our analytical mind. We understand with an expanded heart, not a skeptical prejudice.
The animals have taught me that when we listen first with our imagination, we give our logical minds the chance to make sense of the communications we are having with them. If we instead listen only with our logic, it closes the door to not only the imagination, but to all communication.
