I am always inspired by the relationships between species who, by nature are so very different. Take, for example our dog Bella and our Orange Feline Boys Oscar and Felix. Bella is a high-energy, playful and confident girl who loves her feline brothers, but is as different from them as night and day. And yet, the three of them have developed a unique, close and endearing bond.
Just the other morning, they were all in the courtyard, checking out the neighbor’s dog through the gate. Normally scarred of noises outside their domain, the boys would have run back into the house to hide. But Bella has taught them to trust her lead….and they have taught her to respect their feline cautiousness.
Felix, always the more curious of the two boys was right there with Bella, asking questions about the dog outside while Oscar watched from a safe distance.
Seeing them all interact reminded me of how much we can learn from animals about trust, friendship, faith and having an open heart.
