Kitty Grass

Our Orange Boys Oscar and Felix are inside-only kitties.  They have known this kind of life since birth,  having been raised inside since they were babies.  Our home is filled with cat trees in almost every room, toys, window beds, carpeted stairs to rough-house on and a wonderful deck from which they can watch all the wildlife.

I also get them wheat-grass so they always have something green to eat.  Their kitty grass is a favorite destination in the mornings….they both head for it first thing while I’m putting away dishes and preparing breakfast.  I always get such a kick out of watching them relish it.

It reminds me how easy and simple it is (when we allow it to be) to show our love and appreciation for these special creatures who grace our lives with boundless affection, consistent loyalty and cherished companionship.

Dear Debra, would it be possible to give you my email to correspond about a book I just read that has shaken me deeply, the power of animals to help troubled teens, and a most heroic, or should I say, heroine, Mom – Her book about her young son’s recovery into young adulthood had so much to do with the stray animals they let into their lives, (and helped them come together once again as Mom/son) – and a boy aged 16 that became her foster son and the boy’s ‘bro’ –
