“Today, more than ever before, life must be characterized by a sense of Universal responsibility, not only nation to nation and human to human, but also human to other forms of life.” His Holiness The Dali Lama
After a lifetime of working with animals and helping people develop loving, communicative relationships with their animal companions, I’ve been blessed to see what happens when we open ourselves up to the kind of love that animals are capable of teaching us.
This wonderful quote from the Dali Lama speaks a simple yet profound truth: when we take responsibility for ALL life forms and begin to realize that caring for not just ourselves, but for our beautiful planet and all it’s inhabitants, we raise our own consciousness. We expand our awareness. We invoke divine understanding and our own lives become filled with the healing light of Spirit.
The simplicity of this mystical, universal truth asks only that we lay down our preconceptions and open our hearts and our minds. Sometimes all it takes is the joyful greeting bark from our family dog, the unabashed purring from our feline friend, or the happy nicker from our equine partner….to remind us that the wonder of life and the joy of being alive can be felt by every living creature with whom we share our world.
